Who are we
In the Volvo Cars Consumer Connectivity Services team (CCS), we build services to make life easier, like effortless car sharing, deliveries directly to your car, and moving your car to where it needs to be. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.
What you´ll do
The Data Science team within CCS is tasked with bringing data science and advanced analytics to bear on all parts of the business, and support strategy as well as product development. In your role as a Data Scientist you will support the CCS product teams’ advanced analytics needs, inform business strategy through data-driven insights and build innovative products with data and machine learning. You are expected to understand complex business challenges, develop hypotheses, integrate internal and external data sets, analyze them and effectively communicate your findings to both a technical and non-technical audience. You will work in collaboration with designers, business developers and engineers in the development of connected services.
Who you are
· Master’s/Bachelor’s in a quantitative field and 2+ years of data science industry experience
· Excellent analytical skills and a good grasp of statistics, mathematical modeling, data visualization and Machine Learning
· Solid Python skills
· Experience with Cloud infrastructure - preferably AWS
· Experience working with databases and some flavor of SQL
· Excellent communication skills in English
· Familiarity in (or a willingness to learn) the following is a plus: geospatial analysis, Google Analytics, Git, Power BI / Tableau, Mobile App analytics
