What do we offer?
Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars’ Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicle as well as in component form. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries and transmissions, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. Our work includes hardware- and software preparation of testing, test execution and processing of measurement data.
To meet the future, we need to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation cars in an efficient and correct manner. Then the role as Automation Engineer for Propulsion & Climate Labs within the group Methods & Software is the place for you to prosper.
What you’ll do
You will plan and manage TAS (Test Automation System) development activities. You will be responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of new features and methods in our propulsion test cells. You will implement the software setup in test cell control systems and conduct problem solving investigations when required. You will be our expert regarding questions from users and plan and manage activities to bring out new functionality.
You will contribute to us reaching our aim to make architecturally sound software decisions aiding future development and maintenance of our software suite. You will develop your competence by participate in development and specification of test methods. In this role you will also have the opportunity to build a broad network within R&D and the Laboratory.
Skills & Experience are Important:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equal experience
- Knowledge in networks, protocols and control systems
- Experience from programming and interface design
- Knowledge of measuring systems
- Experience from testing or similar work is meritorious
